Nigerians react as Osinbajo extends N-Power registration by 2 weeks

- Nigerians have reacted strongly to the extension of N-Power registration
- While some applauded the extension, others condemned it
- Some urged the FG to give consideration to those disqualified as a result of BVN related issues in their applications
The recent 2 weeks extension given by acting President Yemi Osinbajo to the registration window of the N-Power social intervention programme of the federal government has attracted mixed reactions from Nigerians and candidates alike.
While some welcome the development, others criticized the extension, claiming that the federal government ought to have increased the numbers of candidates to be employed since the FG only planned to employ 300,000 out of the over 2 million candidates who had already registered.
Many are also of the opinion that the federal government should have made provision for those who weresummarily disqualified as a result of the arrangement of BVN names against that of their N-Power registrations.
N-Power had earlier given information that those whose BVN names does not exactly match that of their registration in terms of arrangement even if the name combinations are same will be asked to end their application through sms.
Consequently, candidates who faulted the 'gestapo' style of the N-Power in disqualifying them even though the celebrated government scheme failed to provide an avenue for correction of candidates' information on their portal want a second chance for them in the new registration window of grace or better, a chance to make the necessary corrections in their applications.
Here are some comments highlighting the mood of candidates and Nigerians.

Osinbajo also extended the registration for the scheme by two extra weeks to allow more Nigerians come in.
With this, the application portal will now close on July 27. The scheme was initiated by the government of President Muhammadu Buhari to reduce the number of unemployed Nigerians in the country.
